Just five years after its launch, Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, has become the world’s most valuable startup. Its market value of $46 billion (as of June 2015) is larger than that of Uber, Snapchat, or even Palantir.Last year, Xiaomi overtook Samsung to become the leader in the Chinese market. The company uses direct sales from its web site; social media; fan engagement; and weekly updates to its Android-based operating system to get ahead of rivals. It sells smartphones comparable to Samsung’s high-end models at prices that are 30-50% lower. That’s partly because Xiaomi subsidizes hardware prices, according to analysts, by selling software and services through a proprietary apps store.Strangely, Xiaomi has made no secret of its belief that India — China’s neighbor and biggest geopolitical rival in Asia — is central to the realization of its global ambitions. India has already become Xiaomi’s second largest source of revenues, after China, just a little more than a year after the company entered that competitive market.During a visit to India in late April 2015, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun launched the India-designed Mi 4i smartphone — the first time Xiaomi has debuted a new product outside China. He wooed the Tata Group’s Ratan Tata to become an investor in the parent company. Lei Jun also said that Xiaomi intends to become more Indian by setting up a R&D center, a manufacturing facility, and a data center there, and by investing in local companies.

India will, most likely, play four roles in Xiaomi’s global game plan.

Xiaomi could grow faster in India than it did in China. While the Chinese market is close to saturation with over 70% smartphone penetration, the corresponding number for India is less than 20%. Given their lower per capita incomes, Indian customers are more price conscious than their Chinese peers, and will be drawn to Xiaomi’s products. Success in India will give Xiaomi not only revenue-growth, which will help sustain its valuations, but also the economies of scale to drive down component costs — important for the company to maintain its cost advantage.
India provides Xiaomi with a learning opportunity. In order to succeed outside China, Xiaomi must figure out how to tweak its business model. For instance, Google dominates the Android app store globally, which prevents the Chinese company from using app store revenues to subsidize smartphone prices. Figuring out how to win profitably in India, which is predominantly Android territory, will dramatically increase the prospects for success in other emerging markets. In addition, India provides Xiaomi with an opportunity to experiment with new products and business models.
Market leadership in China and India, the two biggest markets for low-priced smartphones, is critical if Xiaomi is to keep competitors at bay. They will imitate its business model: Lenovo is already experimenting with online-only sales of Motorola cellphones, a business it recently acquired. However, staying ahead in both China and India will provide Xiaomi a prestigious global edge.
Given India’s pool of technical talent, Xiaomi will get an opportunity to create a second R&D hub as well as an English-speaking technical support center there. The latter will be critical to service Xiaomi’s new markets outside China and India.

By 2025, China will be the largest, and India the third-largest, economy in the world. Consequently, a growing number of companies from the two countries will regard success in each other’s markets as critical elements of their global strategies. That might well change the very nature of the political and economic ties between China and India

Android Debug Bridge (adb) is a versatile command line tool that lets you communicate with an emulator instance or connected Android-powered device. It is a client-server program that includes three components:

A client, which runs on your development machine. You can invoke a client from a shell by issuing an adb command. Other Android tools such as the ADT plugin and DDMS also create adb clients.
A server, which runs as a background process on your development machine. The server manages communication between the client and the adb daemon running on an emulator or device.
A daemon, which runs as a background process on each emulator or device instance.
You can find Adb  in Your MiFlash Tool , Browse to  " C:\Program Files (x86)\Xiaomi\MiPhone\Google\Android "

Today We Will Learn How to Setup ADB Bridge connection from a PC (computer) To Our MI mobile ( or any other Mobile).

Enabling adb Debugging
In order to use adb with a device connected over USB, you must enable USB debugging in the device system settings, underDeveloper options.
On Android 4.2 and higher, the Developer options screen is hidden by default. To make it visible, go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times. Return to the previous screen to find Developer options at the bottom.
After Enabling Usb Degugging Connect the Phone to Computer.Then Open Command Promt .

and, Browse to the Adb tool location via CMD

After that type comand -  " adb devices " - without quotes

This will bring a prompt screen on your mobile asking for permission - Click Allow
Then your device Serial no would appear with Online status .

You have sucessfully setup ADB.

***NOTE - TO USE ADB ROOT ( adb su ) Your device needs to be rooted

The Xiaomi Smart Home Set Review

I am luck to be selected as one of the 200 beta tester for this Xiaomi Smart Home Set. The set comes with the X-bulb as well.

The box seems to be much smaller than what I have expected.

Upon opening the box you can see the Mi bunny comic on how to Mi Bunny uses the Smart Home Set.

There are a total 5 items in this Smart home Set.

This is the main smart home controller.

This is the one click controller

This is the montion controller

Finally this is the window/door controller.

The instruction manual is simple and clearly explain to you how to install the app.

X-bulb is also included in this beta testing set.

The X-bulb has a lifespan of 25000 hours of usage.

Once you power up the main controller, there will be beautifuly voice requesting you to connect via the smart home app.

While connecting, the light will blink.

You have to ensure that you are on the same network with you cell phone before it connects successfully.

Once connected, the app will promte you to update to the latest firmware.

The update take about 5 mins to complete.

If you double click the controller power button it will turn into alarm mode which will indicate red color light.

Once you are in the app, all the rest of the sensors are connect automatically.

Clicking on the light button can turn on the light.

The first setup i did was to turn on the window sensor. This will allow me to automatically light up my room when I close the window. There can be several setup at the sametime, for example turning on the light and air purifier at the sametime whenever you close your window or door.

You can also tune the light of the main controller. It can customzied to fit your room and your favourite color.

This color fits into my room nicely!

The motion sensor can be used as a security system when it detects someone, it will sound the alarm and send you a notification.

I have chosen to place the one click controller to be infront of my door so I can activate the alarm system whenever I leave my house before work.

The motion sensor is palced right at the door step.

Last week, Xiaomi launched few new products. That is Mi Bluetooth Headset, Mi Yee Light Bedside Lamp and the Mi Router which looks like Mi Bunny. Seems like Xiaomi is expanding their ecosystem to everything related to our daily life ranging from Mi Band, Mi Scale, Mi Yi action camera up to Mi Phone, MI Tv, Mi Router, Mi Pad, Mi box and so on. Some products are not produced by Xiaomi directly but it's from their ecochain companies. However, don't worry as Xiaomi always maintain and have a strict quality control.

So this episode we will introduce a Mi Bluetooth Headset. Perhaps many of us having driving license and drive daily to work , what if your phone suddenly ring and a call from your boss/ mum/ girlfriend/ boyfriend? I am sure in most countries, you are not allowed to answer call or playing phone while driving. It's extremely dangerous to drive only with single hand, what if we have a bluetooth headset? Just a click to answer the call and both your hand will be steadily handle the steering.

There are a lot of bluetooth headset in the market, some even reach thousands ++ . How about Xiaomi Bluetooth Headset which only costs 79 Yuan? Cheap stuff are bad? Nope, let's have a look

This Mi Bluetooth Headset packed with the white box. This is totally different compared to the brown color box we normally receive our phone.

White color looks clean, neat and elegant.

Mi Bluetooth Headset is very light and easy to bring around. There are 2 colors to choose from that is black and white. For your info, the design of Mi Bluetooth Headset won the IF award from Germany which is similar to Oscar's award.

Until this stage some might wonder, Hmmm what if my white Mi Bluetooth Headset got dirty with stained? Xiaomi claimed that it can be easily cleaned just like Mi4i back cover as they are using Japan Technology on the paint. Let's carry out the experiment !

We wrote something on the Mi Bluetooth Headset as you can see. We used marker pen which is famous for its stubborn stain.

As you can see it's easily cleaned just using water and cloth/tissue. No one will know we actually wrote something on it before

Mi Bluetooth Headset also did a research on the design of the earphone. The earphone is made with special silicon which do not have any weird odor. Besides that, the shape are chosen based on 2000 Asian's ear size. So it's very comfortable when you wear it.

On top of the Mi Bluetooth Headset is the switch which has a symbol of a phone. The bottom of it has a LED light which will blinking when connected.

Mi Bluetooth Headset using bluetooth 4.1 technology which support it to connect with 2 devices. If you have iphone and Android phone in the pocket, it will connect to the one which is ringing. The noise cancellation also great and reduce the noise in the environment and enhance human's voice.

How about the battery life? According to Xiaomi, it can lasts for 180 hours which is enough for 1 week usage. Besides that, It only took 2 hours to charge it to full battery stats as well.

One disadvantage of this Mi Bluetooth Headset the volume button was sacrificed for the appearance. Therefore you need to adjust it manually using your phone.

This is no doubt an another good product with affordable price by Xiaomi ecosystem company. So far this product was sold out in China. If you always have lots of calls to answer this would be a great choice for you !
