BENGALURU: Gadgetwood eServices, a webbased portal that offers repair and support services for smart gadgets, has tied up with Xiaomi to offer customised and one-day repair and delivery services to the Chinese phone maker's users exclusively.
"We want to bring door-delivery services to customers, who otherwise have no time to travel and identify outlets to service their gadgets in," said Manu Kumar Jain, India head at Xiaomi. The partnership with Gadgetwood became official after a two-and-a-half-month pilot project that allowed users in the Delhi-NCR region to get their Xiaomi phones repaired and site-delivered within 24 hours. Over 500 users availed the service during the period.
"As a startup, we are constantly looking for such opportunities. We reached out to them (Xiaomi India) and got a quick response," said Jayant Jha, co-founder and director at Gadgetwood eServices. "Our customer satisfaction levels have reached a new high."
The year-old startup raised around .`1.1 crore ($200,000) in April, in its first round of funding from Indian Angel Network (IAN). The round was led by HCL Technologies Founder Ajai Chowdhry, boutique investment firm Fresco Global's Managing Director Nitin Singhal, serial entrepreneur Yogesh Bansal and Ashvin Chadha of North India Sotheby's International Realty.Experts say while the on-demand services economy has exploded and almost become an entrepreneurship trend, competition and retention of quality of service as promised initially are two factors that a startup has to consider.
"In this space, it is about retaining the quality of service at the average-fixed prices, because there will always be competition. Technology and access to funds have caused competition to increase multiple-fold. Innovative business models, partnership-driven models can only take a company so far.. So, it always comes down to customer satisfaction," said Jayanth Kolla, founder at research firm Convergence Catalyst.
