I have made it easy to view by highlighting the specs in red which superior than other 2 phones. Hope this comparison review can help many people who is hesitating to change their phones.

Comparison Review

Honestly, I doubt Mi 4i will perform better than Mi 3, because of its processor. Even though it is new, but the 1.7GHz does not convince me that it will be superb than Mi 3 with a lower price. Comes with the latest Android Lollipop that everyone wants, I bet this factor brings the most influence for users to choose Mi 4i. For me, MIUI 6 still the same in either Kitkat or Lollipop, so it doesn't bother me much. Those who like thin phone, Mi 4i might be your better choice as it only has 7.8mm thick. Price is also the biggest factor of choosing a phone. If you like to spend less and get more, Mi 4i is the best choice.

In term of RAM, Mi 4 is still the best among all with its 3GB RAM. From my experiences, RAM does not affect your daily usage much, even with just 2GB RAM, unless you are a frequent multi-tasker who play games, social interacting and watching videos at the same time. For internal and external storage, nothing much to be said.

Mi 4i has the advantage in term of data network, which provides 4G network to users. I know we have Mi 4 with 4G version, yet it is not officially available in global market and so I did not include it. On top of that, Mi 4i also provides Dual SIM, which is a good option for users who using 2 SIM cards. This is a great spec to deviate those Mi 3 and Mi 4 users to switch their phone into Mi 4i. Other than that, Mi 4i also comes with latest version Bluetooth 4.1 compared to Mi 3 and Mi 4.

For camera aspect, please do not judge the camera specs by its Megapixel. Redmi Note 3G has better MP in camera than Mi 3, but its photo quality is not even close to Mi 3 photo quality. Mi 4i seems to have the two-tone flash back which absent in Mi 4. I'm not really sure about the camera quality with and without this special flash because I do not own either Mi 3 or Mi 4. The judgement will be given to you all who have these phones.

It is very surprising that Mi 4i does not have
in-built barometer sensor. So what does barometer do? From the Google search, I find that Barometer is used to measure atmospheric pressure, which can forecast weather in short changes. More info about Barometer here. Hall sensor is used to generate different voltage output response with magnetic field. In phone, Mi 4 and Mi 4i can has a feature called "Smart Cover" which the screen is awaked when magnetic flip cover is opened.

Verdict

After collected all the spec details of these 3 phones, I am totally agreed with one Chinese saying, which directly traslated as "One Penny, One Material". It means that every price you paid, you will get the exactly same amount of things in return. However, Xiaomi Mi 4i really has a lot of bonus in the things return, which it gave us much more than the price we paid. I am really impressed that Xiaomi once again brought us another phone which has awesome specs with unbelievable pricing.

Reason why I buy Xiaomi MI 4i
- Android Lollipop!!!
- Cheap
- Higher battery capacity
- Support 4G Network
- Dual SIM
- Sunlight Display (Smart Feature)
- Bluetooth Ver 4.1
Reason Why I buy / stick with Xiaomi MI 4
- Better processor among all
- More RAM
- Better camera (smaller aperture)
- Infrared Sensor
Reason Why I stick with Xiaomi Mi 3
- Better processor than Mi 4i (Not Mi 4)
- NFC
- Barometer (which not present in Mi 4i)

Feel free to let me know if there is any mistake on the info provided. Thanks!
