A camera is an optical instrument for recording images. The word camera comes from camera obscura, which means "dark chamber" and is the Latin name of the original device for projecting an image of external reality onto a flat surface. The modern photographic camera evolved from the camera obscura. The functioning of the camera is very similar to the functioning of the human eye.

If you are using a Mi 4i, I am sure you already be fascinated by it's Camera and Image Quality.

Megapixel means one million pixels. The resolution of digital cameras and camera phones is often measured in megapixels. For example, a 5-megapixel camera can produce images with five million total pixels.

Since pixels are usually square and form a grid, a 1-megapixel camera will produce an image roughly 1200 pixels wide by 900 pixels high.

The more Megapixel you have the more clarity you can maintain even after you Zoom or Edit to certain extent without damaging the quality of the original image.

Mi 4i Camera has 5 - Element Lense.

Except for the most simple and inexpensive lenses, each complete lens is made up from a number of separate lens elements arranged along a common axis. The use of many lens elements serves to minimise aberrations and to provide a sharp image free from visible imperfections. To do this requires lens elements of different compositions and different shapes. To minimise chromatic aberrations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

f/2.0 aperture

An f/2.0 lens means that that piece of glass is capable of an f/2.0 aperture. Generally this means that f/2.0 is that widest aperture the lens has. This type of lens lets a lot of light through and can be called a fast lens in the industry. Fast lenses are able to offer faster shutter speeds and can work in lower light. The faster the lens the shallower of a depth of field it can offer. Fast lenses can be heavier and more expensive then alternatives that have even slightly smaller apertures.

Mi 4i has the best Mobile Camera available in Market with f/2.0 Rear Camera and f/1.8 front Camera which gives best image even in low light.

Two-tone flash

Using Two LEDs; One White and one Warm Yellow, they are not designed to give off more light but to color correct the ambient light in the room for more accurate flesh tones. Each LED can be lit with a varying intensity that together produce 1,000 different color temperatures.

Manual Mode

Manual Mode opens door to many more options for Mi 4i Camera, where one can explore the Exposure, Focus, ISO, White Balance, Panorama, Refocus, Timer etc., This is very helpful in capturing the image in more professional way.

HDR

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range imaging, and it's an old photography practice recently introduced to cameraphones in some Mobile devices. In the case of HDR on smartphones, your phone does all the work for you—just snap your picture and it'll spit out one regular photo and one HDR photo. The result is something that should look more like what your eyes see, rather than what your camera sees.

Below are the few Images captured with HDR Mode with Light balancing.

While on HDR Mode if you click on the darker spot of the image before you capture, it will automatically adjust the contrast.

Beautify is a built-in tool that guesses age and gender to apply one of 36 beauty profiles to your selfies. It subtly smoothens skin, brightens eyes, slims the jaw, and more. All this is done automatically so you just have to focus on flashing your brightest smile

Macro

Macro photography is one of the most popular forms of photography, and with good reason. It is easily accessible, and it is a very broad genre of photography. You can enjoy taking macro shots of leaves, flowers, and sluggish insects, maintaining total control over lighting with short distace of the objects. With the minimum distance of 10cm you can capture beautiful Macro Images from Mi 4i.
