Xiaomi is all set to conduct flash sale for the Redmi 2 dark grey color variant on May 25, Monday. The sale will take place at 12 noon on Snapdeal. The company will make available only the dark grey variant of the Redmi 2 in the sale. The registration for the sale is now open.

Xiaomi has not yet revealed the total number units of Redmi 2 dark grey variant it will put on sale. It has followed the flash sale model and hence registrations for May 25 sale is a must. The sale will only be conducted on May 25. This time Xiaomi choose Snapdeal over Flipkart to sell the Redmi 2 dark grey variant. Customers can also buy the white color variant of Redmi 2 which is already available without any flash sale model on Snapdeal, Flipkart and Amazon.

Another thing worth noticing is that customers tend to have enough choices as theXiaomi Mi 4i and Lenovo A6000 Plus are also going on an open sale on May 25 and May 26. Registration for these sales is not required.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Redmi 2 brings in quite a few improvements over its predecessor. It flaunts a 4.7-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS laminated display with a pixel density of 312ppi and protected by Asahi Dragontrail. Under the hood is a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU.

Also included is 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. On the photography front, it features an 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and 28mm wide-angle lens, supplemented with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone also features a 2,200mAh battery, which is not only 10 percent bigger than its predecessor, but thanks to QuickCharge 1.0, charges 20 percent faster as well.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots with supporting LTE (TDD-LTE Band 40 2300MHz and FDD-LTE Band 3 1800MHz), Wi-Fi, USB OTG, Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on MIUI 6 out-of-the-box.

Improvement from previous Redmi 1S:

In this section, I would like to compare it to Redmi 1S only. Below table shows the hardware and software improvement of Redmi 2 from Redmi 1S.

Processor	By compare to Redmi 1s with 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Cortex-A7 core, Redmi 2 come with 64-bit 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 with A53 architecture. Performance had increase about 50% and power management had improved too.
Graphic	Redmi 1S come with Adreno 305 and Redmi 2 use the upgraded version - Adreno 306. It bring better performance for gaming.
Dual Sim	As we know, both Redmi 1S and Redmi 2 provided dual sim. But Redmi 1S only come with 3G/2G while SIM Slot 1 only for 3G and SIM slot 2 only for 2G. There is different to Redmi 2, it come with Dual-LTE-SIM slot, which mean you can put either slot you want to use LTE.
Dimension & Weight	Redmi 2 has smaller size (134 x 67.2 x 9.4mm) than Redmi 1s (137 x 69 x 9.9mm). The weigh also reduced from 158g to 133g. Besides that, the design also different from previous which provide user better handing feel.
Battery	Redmi 2 come with bigger battery by improved from 2000mAh to 2200mAh.

Back Cover Material	Redmi 2 uses a sandpaper texture for it's back cover instead of the high shine glossy one in previous models. This improve the handling feel. It also helps prevent fingerprint stains. Multi-coloured back covers are also available for purchase.
Navigation Button	New design Navigation button at bottom of screen. It is just like new Mi phone such as Redmi Note and Mi4.

How to Bring back A Dead Redmi 2 Back To Life

This tutorial will teach you how to restore your Redmi 2 to a perfectly working state when you soft brick your device.

A soft brick may be a result of flashing the wrong ROM, wrong recovery image or accidently messing with system files which should have been left alone. And a soft brick does not require you to head over to the service center because you can fix it in under an hour. So without wasting much time, lets get on with the tutorial.

Requirements:

A bricked Redmi 2 with USB cable
A Computer running windows operating System (Win 7 preferred)
MiFlash tool. Download it from here -

Procedure:

Download and install Mi Flash tool.
Download and extract the fastboot ROM to a folder on your D drive. Do not extract to desktop. For example extract to D:/Xiaomi/ folder.
Open MIflash Tool, click on browse button.
Select Advanced.
Select ONLY "FLASH ALL.BAT" (for complete new system) or "Except DATA STORAGE.BAT" (for saving the user DATA) ---[ BETTER DO FLASH ALL ] from the extracted FASTBOOT ROM , in FASTBOOT SCRIPT OPTION.
Now leave the second option BLANK [ Nv boot script ]
Now browse and select proper files from image inside fastboot rom folder folder for MSIMAGE.MBN , MPRG.MBN , RAW0 programming.XML and Patch0.xml in appropriate options

Turn on your Phone in Fastboot mode. To do that, press power + volume down button.
Connect the device to pc via the USB cable.
Drivers will install , let them finish
Press refresh On Mi flash , if you get a device as anything "0" or "324ehvh2" or just COM # --- JUST PRESS FLASH BUTTON
The phone is now being flashed , after operation completed, connect the battery if you had removed it, assemble phone and boot (if mi logo come your phone is fixed )(if battery discharged it will not boot - put it on charge if red led blinks - it means phone fixed)
If some driver fails during installation or you dont see any device on miflash , check device manager for any driver not installed properly and install it manually and browse the driver from /programfile/xiaomi/miflash/qualcomm/ "here" .
If miflash gives some error like reached end of fie, receive Hello packets, give the pc a reboot , but be sure to again press f8 and disable driver verification. Is still problem persists, do try another pc running XP or windows 7.
If you face any problem with driver installation - make sure you disabled driver signature detection while booting windows by pressing F8.

Select the appropriate options as mentioned in this image and leave the Nv Boot Script option Blank-

Click on browse and select the appropriate files for options selected from where you have extracted your ROM.

Now connect your Device. Drivers would install. Once installation is complete. Click on refresh. You should get a device.

Click on "Flash". Your device will get flashed with the new Fastboot ROM and voila you have fixed your device. If you had removed the battery, connect it back. Turn on your phone. In some cases battery may be drained, so give your phone a good charge.
